My Projects

The Diary of a Suicide

The Diary of a Suicide is to be my first ever, full-length novel. In spring of 2012, I started posting it on Wattpad as an experimental side project while I was plotting other works. By spring of 2015, I'd fallen in love with the story and characters, and finally decided they deserved to be in a much better book than the one I had been writing for them. I decided to stop working on the original Wattpad draft so I could further develop the plot and polish it into a novel I could be proud of. And that is where it currently stands!

Here's the updated synopsis:

Carter Miller was an average teenager: barely passing through school, gliding through life, and dreading the years ahead. But when he discovers the diary of Stella Ashton—a decade-old murder case—his own troubles suddenly seem so trivial. Through her own words, he learns the truth of her death and the circumstances surrounding it, and uncovers one of the greatest hoaxes of Retrouver's recent history.

Because Stella Ashton was not murdered, she committed suicide.

As Carter tries to understand her decisions, he finds himself growing a bit too attached to their unconventional bond. But the more he retreats into Stella's world, the harder it gets to handle his own.

Bloody Merry

Bloody Merry is a webcomic I'm curently in the early stages of developing. And when I say early stages, I mean early stages, so I have no idea when it'll be ready for launch, but I'm super pumped!

Here's the synopsis:

Everyone knows the legend of Bloody Mary, but no one knows how it started, why it exists, or the fact that it is very much real. That is, until Meredith Mercer, a tragically undead teenager, finds herself forced into taking up the Mary mantle with no memory of what happened to get her there. With the help and understanding of her best friend, his boyfriend, and her also-undead cat, she's going hunting for answers. But can she fight the will to kill long enough to free herself?

It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve written a post for you guys here. Sorry I’ve been MIA, I’m hoping to get back into the groove of things over the next few months. (I’m not used to actually keeping busy, so I’ve gotta learn to juggle.) To make up for my neglect, I’ve compiled this handy-dandy list of little things to keep in mind when writing, something for you ...

As a writer whose brain is constantly in motion, I consider mobile apps one of the greatest conveniences of our time. And even beyond that, I just love finding new tools to mess around with. It can make the most mundane parts of the plotting process seem interesting again! (If I’m being honest, I came across two particular apps recently that I found super useful, and I really wanted to ...

Recently, I was talking to a fellow writer on Wattpad. I love getting to hear the opinions of people who write in different styles and genres than I do—and even those who share my niche—but sometimes you hear some crazy things. Like a horror writer who refuses to indulge in romance or “silly little” comedy. (For the record, this is not a “sub”—or whatever people call it—to anybody I know ...

No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader. (Gosh, it’s been forever since I’ve written an educational post…) Hey peeps! Long time no type. Sorry for my absence, but there’s been a lot distracting me lately; I just haven’t been thinking of discussion topics. However, today our topic’s been handed to us! I woke up this afternoon (don’t ...

Hello peeps. I’m still taking a sort of leave of absence from this thing for the sake of other projects, but there’s something I really want to talk about, if you’d be so kind to spare a moment. I received a series of messages this morning that’s been weighing on me. At first, it was harmless. Then, it was insulting. Now, as I’m sure you all know, I’ve made a ...
